NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (June 19, 2019) – Delta Dental of Tennessee (Delta Dental), Tennessee’s largest independent dental benefits carrier, today announced the promotion of Jeffrey (Jeff) Newton to Vice President of Audit and Finance.

Mr. Newton joined Delta Dental in 2016 as Controller and quickly became an integral part of the finance team.

“Jeff’s dedication to serving our clients and the community has made him an incredible asset to our team,” said Jeff Ballard, Delta Dental of Tennessee’s CFO.

Prior to joining Delta Dental, Mr. Newton began his career at Plante Moran, Delta Dental’s audit firm, where he was an Audit Manager for over 10 years. Mr. Newton, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), earned his Master of Science degree in Accounting (tax specialization) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Jeff is a member of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA), and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). Jeff serves on the board and audit and finance committee for Interfaith Dental Clinic. Jeff also serves on the finance committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, where he volunteers his time as a big brother as well.
