Happy Thursday!!!!

Do you hear that? The sound of Nothingness is deafening. It’s another eerily quiet day in the office. Maybe all of the noisy folks are off Today!!! *giggle*

The officers are still meeting every morning to assess the status of things in our office, with our affiliates, the state and the nation. We will make every attempt to communicate changes in our protocol as soon as they happen. For now, please make sure that your contact number is current with us in case we need to send info via Everbridge. Also, we are looking at the option of creating a webpage that is just for DDTN staff updates. Keep an eye out for more info on that soon.

One important change is we are now allowing staff to order food and have it delivered to the office. The food orders must be prepaid so that the food can be left with Idrees in the lobby. This will lessen the need for staff to be in and out of the building. Idrees will then notify you that it has arrived and you can retrieve it from the cart in the front lobby.

We didn’t have an Employee Committee meeting this week, so if you have questions or concerns that have not been addressed here, please feel free to reach out to Pam, Shanda or Tiffany via email.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Welcome to the 1st day of our attempt at promoting Social Distancing.

What is Social Distancing? Social Distancing is “deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness.”

Staying at least six feet away from other people will lessen your chances of catching COVID-19. The intentional reduction in daily onsite staff will hopefully allow us to maintain this healthy spacing.

You can also help with this by not visiting in each other’s cubicles and being mindful of personal space when interacting with others. Use Team messages, email and phone calls to convey info as needed. Also use standard hygiene, clean up after yourself in the breakrooms and wash your hands frequently.

A Note from DDTN HR

As you have already read in the letter from PAW, there are lots of changes happening and we will get through them like we usually do… Together.

Here are a few additional items to keep in mind…

Our business hours from 3/17-4/5/2020 will be 8 am-4 pm. Idress will be onsite from 7 am-5 pm daily. Non-Management staff should not enter the building prior to 7:45 am. The external doors will be accessible as usual with your ID badge. However, we will prop the internal doors open (ex. Hallway Door beside Kaye’s office) in order to limit the need to badge into each secure area. 

We will have a NO Visitors policy during this restricted time. Absolutely No food deliveries or personal package deliveries (ex. Amazon, Door Dash, or Uber Eats)

We are waiving the dress code during this restricted time. However, no pajamas and/or sleepwear. (Dear Lord, did we really just have to clarify that?!)

Although we could all use a good party right now, We have chosen to reschedule the 2020 Spring Thaw until later this year. We promise that we will party like rock stars when things are back to normal (whatever normal is by the end of the year.) However, It’s just not a good idea to be line dancing and boot-scootin' right now unless you can’t find toilet tissue. lol

Of course, your safety is a priority for us. If you are running a fever or have flu-like symptoms, please stay home and alert your manager or supervisor.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has information on its website regarding coronavirus, which can be accessed here. Their telemedicine services are convenient and it’s a free call. Log in on their site for more detail.

The officers will meet every morning to access the current situation and send out updates as needed.

To the Whole Delta Team

It seems as though the last few weeks have been beyond any expectations, we have moved from a tornado to a pandemic! In situations like this, there is a plan, even for something like a pandemic, which is contained in our Business Continuity Plan (BCP).  This document was written a few years ago by the Officers and had been approved by the DDTN Board.  It is a very well written and forward-thinking piece of work and has covered both of the events of the recent past.

I know that everyone has or should have some level of concern about how COVD-19 will affect them, and that is carried into the workplace. Last week we began to discuss what the next steps had to be to protect our team and to also provide only the most critical functions for the company.  Our first task was to identify those and then to determine how to accomplish success with a modified staffing plan.  That means that some of the functions that you perform so well every day might be either reduced or not performed for the foreseeable future. Currently, those staffing plans are being finalized by the Officers and Managers of every department, and so they will be meeting with each person individually to set the plan in motion.

This modified plan will go into effect tomorrow, 3/17/2020, and will be extended until Sunday, 4/5/2020. During that time, we will be at a drastically reduced staffing model in all areas of the company to minimize personal contact as you perform your duties. However, the leadership requested and our DDTN board agreed that there will be no reduction in your compensation during this challenging time, so please work with your management to help us address our needs. Pam and Shanda will be sending out other important HR and Employee Committee announcements later today.    

I know that I do not have to remind you to follow the guidelines for keeping yourself safe, lots of handwashing, minimal close contacts, and if you get a fever, do not be around other people. You are an incredibly talented and resilient group of professionals, and together we will overcome this challenge like we have those of the past.
